I really enjoyed this。 The art was beautiful and the stories captured the feels and characters of the show。

I would not suggest this graphic to anyone who hasn't watched the TV series first。 Boy, that would probably be confusing。 Tales of Carnival Row is a great follow up to the first season for the TV series, and probably the second season as it will be the last。 Tales is a series of stories about the main characters, expanding on their histories and lives in the Burgue。 I really enjoyed the little vignettes and was so excited to learn more about characters I'd fallen in love with。 While the art styl I would not suggest this graphic to anyone who hasn't watched the TV series first。 Boy, that would probably be confusing。 Tales of Carnival Row is a great follow up to the first season for the TV series, and probably the second season as it will be the last。 Tales is a series of stories about the main characters, expanding on their histories and lives in the Burgue。 I really enjoyed the little vignettes and was so excited to learn more about characters I'd fallen in love with。 While the art style was not my favorite, it was still well done and the color work was lovely。 I found the lettering a bit hard to read, but that was likely due to my digital ARC than the actual novel。 I look forward to seeing this in print forma and giving it another eager read。 Great job on the graphic, and I hope there might be more in the future。 。。。more

A little supplement for anyone who loves the show。 Although it is one narrative, it contains short stories within, told as the main story goes on。 We get some more back story on Philo and Agreus。 Just enough to hold you over until the next season。As for the artwork, it’s beautifully done。 Each story is told by a different set of artists, so each is a bit different than the other。

Beautifully drawn w/ 3 new stories about some of your favorite characters from Amazon Prime’s Carnival Row。 3 new chapters help explain more background on Philo, Vignette and even Agreus。 I hope this becomes a series of graphic novels as the Prime show will on,h be 1 more season。*Special thanks to NetGalley and Legendary Comics for this e-arc。*

This is a perfect addition to the story if you have watched the Carnival Row series and are eagerly awaiting series 2。 Some great tales with some back stories and the graphics are excellent and captivating。 My only criticism is that I wanted more。 Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review。

I am a fan of the show, so I was thrilled to see more media to consume while I wait for the 2nd season。 This reads perfectly episodic, although I found the choice in the usage of “chapter”, as it felt more appropriate to describe it as a part。 I greatly enjoyed this and hope to add it to my personal library。 I feel other fans of the show will be greatly pleased with this as well。

I received an ARC of this from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review。I'm a fan of the Carnival Row show, and enjoyed this graphic novel。 It took me a bit to get into the flow of the book。 I found the placement of the speech bubbles to be odd, so I kept reading things in the wrong order。 I also found that sometimes I really needed to examine the art in the panel before I read the words。 In short, I re-read a lot of sections to try and make sense of the story。All-in-all, this is very in keep I received an ARC of this from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review。I'm a fan of the Carnival Row show, and enjoyed this graphic novel。 It took me a bit to get into the flow of the book。 I found the placement of the speech bubbles to be odd, so I kept reading things in the wrong order。 I also found that sometimes I really needed to examine the art in the panel before I read the words。 In short, I re-read a lot of sections to try and make sense of the story。All-in-all, this is very in keeping with the world presented in the TV show。 It has the same gritty, oppressive feel that you see on the screen。 I read this digitally, so I'm not sure if the print copy will be so dark, but I did feel that it was a bit too dark and some of the details were lost。 I'm usually not a fan of art based on actor's faces, but the artists did a really good job here。Overall, if you like Carnival Row, fantasy or steampunk, this is a good read。 I will definitely be recommending it。 。。。more

I do think it's necessary to have watched a little bit of the show to get proper enjoyment out of this book, but if you have a base knowledge it's a very fun read。 It's fun that you get a few different art styles and 'versions' of the characters。 It's also fun to get more backstory on the characters we know It's been long enough that I don't remember enough detail about the show to really analyze if there's anything deeper going on, but a generally enjoyable collection of short one offs。Thanks t I do think it's necessary to have watched a little bit of the show to get proper enjoyment out of this book, but if you have a base knowledge it's a very fun read。 It's fun that you get a few different art styles and 'versions' of the characters。 It's also fun to get more backstory on the characters we know It's been long enough that I don't remember enough detail about the show to really analyze if there's anything deeper going on, but a generally enjoyable collection of short one offs。Thanks to NetGalley for providing a digital ARC copy for review。 。。。more

I received an arc for this comic from NetGalley。The cover and description of this sounded great, as I love fairies, as well as the art style。 Turns out this is based on a tv series, and can definitely not be read on its own。 There is simply not enough information about anything in this book, and rather than an actual story, this comic has several short stories focusing on one person。 These stories are usually a few pages and often it's a character telling another character about a third characte I received an arc for this comic from NetGalley。The cover and description of this sounded great, as I love fairies, as well as the art style。 Turns out this is based on a tv series, and can definitely not be read on its own。 There is simply not enough information about anything in this book, and rather than an actual story, this comic has several short stories focusing on one person。 These stories are usually a few pages and often it's a character telling another character about a third characters backstory。 If you already know these characters, this might be interesting, but if you don't you're probably kinda lost at first。 Context clues definitely help, but none of these characters feel real, and I never got any sense of their personalities, which made them all rather forgettable。The art is fine, but definitely not enough to save this comic。 。。。more

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book。 I wasn’t crazy about the cursing throughout the book but it is a dark and gritty comic。 I like the detective feel of the story。 I do like how each chapter has different timelines。

I admit I really enjoyed the tv show。 But I am also pretty thoroughly predisposed to like a fantasy steampunk show! If you’re a fan of the show and are glad there’s going to be a second season then this is absolutely going to be a graphic novel for you。 I would be pretty happy to see more comics published set in this world。 This was an ARC I was really glad to get!

Wow! I really loved this graphic novel interpretation of the TV show。 It's really not a novel, more a collection of short stories that illuminate various parts of the characters' backstories。 The art is terrific and I thought this was a great read for fans of the show。 Wow! I adored the show and was excited to explore the world more。 There were some interesting character insights and I enjoyed the read, but it didn't have quite the amount of detail to draw me in that I was hoping for。 The world and the steam punk-like details was what made me fall for the show and this didn't really provide the same feel, although I did think the art in chapter 3 lived more up to my expectations。 I still think it's worth a read for fans of the show who, like me, can't quite seem to I adored the show and was excited to explore the world more。 There were some interesting character insights and I enjoyed the read, but it didn't have quite the amount of detail to draw me in that I was hoping for。 The world and the steam punk-like details was what made me fall for the show and this didn't really provide the same feel, although I did think the art in chapter 3 lived more up to my expectations。 I still think it's worth a read for fans of the show who, like me, can't quite seem to put this world behind them。(I was provided a free digital proof by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review) 。。。more
